Saying goodbye,
gently.

We offer At-Home pet euthanasia across the Gold Coast, and a quiet, private room in our Ormeau clinic — so your goodbye can happen wherever it feels right for your family. If you've found this page, you're probably carrying something very heavy right now. We want you to know, before anything else: you don't have to carry it alone, and there is no rush here.

You don't have to
do this alone.

Deciding when to say goodbye is one of the hardest things a pet owner ever does. Many people tell us they feel guilty for even thinking about it — or afraid of getting the timing wrong. Those feelings are normal, and they're usually a sign of how much you love your pet, not a sign that anything is wrong with you.

You don't need to have the words ready when you call. You don't need to have decided. Some families come to us simply wanting to talk about how their pet is doing, and what the weeks ahead might look like. That conversation — unhurried, honest, and gentle — is often the most helpful place to start.

And when the time does come, our job is to carry as much of the weight as we possibly can: the logistics, the paperwork, the practical decisions. So that you can put all of yourself into simply being with your pet.

Not sure if it's time?

Wondering isn't the same as knowing — and you don't have to weigh it alone in your head. Our gentle quality-of-life self-assessment walks through the seven things vets look at — comfort, appetite, hydration, hygiene, joy, mobility, and the balance of good days to hard ones — and gives you a simple score to reflect on. It's a conversation-starter, never a verdict.

Try the quality-of-life assessment

At home, or with us —
your choice.

There's no right answer, only what feels right for your family. Both options are the same team, the same gentleness, the same unhurried time.

At-Home pet euthanasia, Gold Coast‑wide

We come to you, anywhere across the Gold Coast and South Brisbane corridor. Your pet stays in their own space — their bed, their garden, the sunny spot on the verandah — surrounded by familiar smells and the people they love. Many families find this the most peaceful option, especially for pets who find travel hard. Our At-Home visits page explains how home appointments work.

A quiet room in our Ormeau clinic

Some families prefer to come to us — and our clinic was designed for moments like this. A private, softly lit room with no clinical coldness, time that is never watched, and a separate exit so you never have to walk back through a waiting room. You check out in the room, or we simply settle everything later.

What to expect,
step by step.

Not knowing what will happen is often the most frightening part — especially if you've never been through this before, or if a past experience was hard. So here is exactly how we do it, gently and without hurry.

We talk first

When you call, we listen. We'll answer every question, help you think about timing if you're unsure, and arrange a time that gives your family space — including anyone who needs to travel, or children who want to say goodbye.

Your pet is made comfortable

A gentle sedative comes first, so your pet drifts into a calm, sleepy peace in their favourite spot or in your arms. There's no fear in this part — most pets simply relax, often while being patted and spoken to.

You take all the time you need

Nothing happens until you're ready. Some families need a few quiet minutes; some need much longer. We will never, ever rush you.

A peaceful passing

When you're ready, the final injection is given while your pet is deeply asleep. It is painless and peaceful — most families say it was gentler than they had feared. You can hold your pet throughout, or step out if that's what you need. Both are okay.

We handle what comes after

Aftercare arrangements, paperwork, transport — we take care of all of it, exactly as you've chosen. You will not be handed a clipboard in that moment.

Aftercare, handled
with care.

Before the day, we'll gently talk through the options so nothing has to be decided in the hardest moment. Families most often choose private cremation, where your pet's ashes are returned to you in an urn or keepsake of your choosing, or communal cremation, where ashes are not returned. Some families prefer a home burial where local regulations allow.

Whatever you choose, we organise it — including keepsakes like paw prints or a clipping of fur, if you'd like them. And in the weeks after, if you find yourself struggling, please know that grieving a pet is real grief. We can point you to pet loss support that genuinely helps, and our door stays open if you just want to talk.

If a past goodbye
was hard.

Many families who come to us carry a difficult memory from somewhere else — a goodbye that felt rushed, clinical, or cold. If that's you, we're genuinely sorry. You deserved better, and so did your pet.

Please know it doesn't have to be that way. Unhurried time, gentleness, and your pet's comfort are not extras here — they're the whole point. Tell us what was hard last time, and we will make sure this time is different.

Questions families
often ask.

How do I know it's the right time?

There's rarely a single obvious moment — it's usually a gradual weighing of your pet's comfort, joy, and dignity. Things worth noticing: appetite, mobility, interest in the people and routines they love, and whether hard days now outnumber good ones. You don't have to work this out alone — a quality-of-life conversation with us, in the clinic or at home, can bring real clarity and real peace of mind.

Can my pet be put to sleep at home?

Yes. We provide At-Home end of life care across the Gold Coast and South Brisbane corridor, so your pet can be in their own familiar space, with their family around them. Many people use the words "put to sleep" or "put down" when they call — we understand exactly what you mean, and we'll use whatever words feel right for your family.

Should the other pets in the house be there?

In our experience, it can genuinely help. Animals often seem to understand more than we expect, and letting a bonded companion sniff and sit nearby afterwards may ease their searching in the days that follow. It's entirely your choice, and we'll help you decide on the day.

Should children be there?

There's no single right answer — it depends on the child and your family. Because the process is calm and peaceful, many children cope better being present than being excluded; others do best saying goodbye beforehand. We're happy to talk it through with you, and we'll explain things to children gently and honestly if they're there.

What does it cost?

It depends on whether we come to you or you come to us, and the aftercare you choose. We'll talk it through openly and clearly when you call, before anything is decided — there are never surprises. Our fees page has general pricing information.

If you'd rather write than talk

Reach out, gently.

We understand how hard this is. If picking up the phone feels like too much right now, leave your details here and we'll reach out to you — quietly, kindly, and with no pressure at all.

Thank you — that's come through. Thank you for reaching out. We'll contact you gently, and soon. If you need us sooner, please call (07) 5546 6756.

If it's urgent, please call us — we'll always make time.

When you're ready, we're here.

There's no need for the right words — and if you don't feel like talking, that's completely okay. Call us, send a text, or book quietly online, whichever feels gentlest. However you reach us, we'll take it from there, at your pace.
