Where we work
Where is your clinic, and what areas do you service?
Our clinic is at 3/31 Zupp Drive, Ormeau QLD 4209 — an easy drive from Pimpama, Coomera, Yatala, and surrounding suburbs, with free parking at the door. Our At-Home visits travel much further: the full Gold Coast and the South Brisbane corridor. See Contact for directions.
Do you treat animals other than dogs and cats?
We care for dogs and cats only. Keeping that focus is part of what keeps the clinic calm — and it's why cats get their own separate waiting area, consult room, and hospital ward.
Are you the clinic on Blanck Street?
Not anymore — that was us in a former life, as Animal Options Vet Clinic. In March 2026 we moved to our purpose-built clinic at 3/31 Zupp Drive, Ormeau. We're not connected with the clinic that now operates at the old Blanck Street address. Same team, better home — our About page tells the story.
At-Home visits
What can the vet actually do at my house?
Most of what happens in a consult room: full examinations, vaccinations, blood tests, senior and mobility checks, behaviour support, and gentle end of life care. Anything needing surgery or X-rays is organised at our Ormeau clinic — one team, two ways to see us. Full details on the At-Home Vet Services page.
Who are At-Home visits best for?
Pets who find travel or clinics stressful — anxious dogs, car-phobic cats — and owners who can't easily get to us: seniors, new parents, people with limited mobility or several pets. For many animals, home is genuinely the calmest place to be examined.
Which suburbs do you travel to?
Across the Gold Coast and up the South Brisbane corridor — from Beenleigh and Logan through Coomera, Helensvale, and Southport, down to Burleigh, Palm Beach, and Coolangatta. If you're not sure whether we reach you, call — the answer is usually yes.
Booking an appointment
How do I book?
Three easy ways: book online any time, call (07) 5546 6756, or text 0468 104 197 during business hours. For At-Home visits, calling is best so we can find a travel window that suits.
How far ahead should I book?
A few days' notice usually gets you a time that suits; routine visits like vaccinations can be booked well ahead. If your pet is unwell, call us today — we keep room for the pets who can't wait.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Just let us know as early as you can — a quick call or text is perfect. Life with pets is unpredictable; we understand, and an early heads-up lets us offer your spot to another pet who needs it.
Pet care & vaccinations
When should my puppy or kitten have their first visit?
Ideally within their first week home — vaccinations typically start from six to eight weeks of age, and an early gentle visit sets up a lifetime of easy ones. We'll map out the full vaccination and parasite-protection schedule at that first appointment, so you always know what's next.
How often does my adult pet need a check-up?
At least yearly for healthy adults — pets age faster than we do, so a yearly exam is like us seeing a doctor every few years. For seniors (roughly 7+ for dogs, 10+ for cats), we recommend twice-yearly visits, because the earlier we catch changes, the more we can do about them.
What's your approach to food and nutrition?
Individual — because no single diet suits every pet. We support well-managed raw feeding as one good option among several, and we'll help you build a diet around your pet's age, health, and life rather than a one-size-fits-all rule. Bring your questions; nutrition conversations are some of our favourites.
Your first visit
What should I bring to a first appointment?
Any vaccination or medical records you have, a note of current medications, and your questions — all of them. A favourite treat helps too. Transferring from another vet? We'll request your pet's records for you — see the New Clients page.
My pet hates the vet. What do you do differently?
Quite a lot — it's the reason we exist. Longer, unhurried appointments; a softly lit, quiet building with no cold steel tables; separate cat spaces; checkout in the consult room; and an arrival routine where you wait in the car and walk straight into a room. There's a whole page on it: care for anxious pets.
Can I see the clinic before I book?
Of course. Browse the photos on Meet Our Space, or drop in and reception will show you around — cat wing included.
Payments & policies
What payment methods do you accept?
Cash, credit card (including Amex), VetPay, and ZipMoney. Payment is taken on the day, and can be done right in the consult room, so you're never juggling your pet at a busy counter. For typical costs, see Our Fees.
Do you take pet insurance?
Yes — you pay on the day and claim back from your insurer, which is how most Australian policies work. We'll happily complete the paperwork and provide the records your insurer needs, usually same-day.
Do you offer payment plans?
VetPay and ZipMoney both let you spread the cost of care over time. If cost is worrying you, please say so early — talking about money openly is normal here, and knowing your options reduces stress for everyone, including your pet.
Specialty care
How do you handle end of life care?
Gently, and with as much of the weight carried by us as possible. You can choose a quiet, private room at the clinic or a peaceful goodbye at home, and we handle everything practical — timing, paperwork, aftercare. When you're ready, our end of life page explains everything, step by step.
Do you offer acupuncture or other integrative care?
Yes — Dr Anna practises veterinary acupuncture, and we offer laser therapy and integrative medicine alongside conventional care, never instead of it. Many pets with arthritis or chronic pain respond well; it's worth a conversation at your next visit.
Can you help with behaviour problems and anxiety?
Yes. Behaviour consults look at what's driving the worry — from noise phobias to separation anxiety — and build a practical, kind plan that may include training approaches, environmental changes, and sometimes medication. The earlier we start, the easier it is for everyone.
Emergency care
What do I do in an emergency?
During opening hours (Mon–Fri 7:45am–5:30pm), call us first on (07) 5546 6756 — we'll tell you exactly what to do and get ready for you. After hours, go straight to the Animal Emergency Service: Carrara (07) 5559 1599 or Underwood (07) 3423 1888. Our Emergency Contacts page has the full guidance — worth bookmarking.
Are you open on weekends?
No — we're open Monday to Friday, 7:45am to 5:30pm. On weekends, the Animal Emergency Service (Carrara and Underwood) has vets on around the clock, and we'll pick up your pet's follow-up care first thing Monday.
